I went to Studio 35 in Sonoma last weekend to see if they would be interested in my work. I was running behind from San Francisco traffic, so I arrived a few minutes late. I couldn’t find the studio director anywhere at Peet’s, where we were supposed to meet! I tried calling her, but her voicemail was full. Oh no! Did I miss an incredible opportunity? Now what to do? Drive back to SF in a funk?
I calmed myself down enough to buy myself a chamomile tea and chill and regroup. Then I got a text back from her saying she was at the coffee shop. It turned out she was sitting right next to me talking to another artist! I showed her my work, and she showed me what spaces were available at the gallery, and we sealed the deal! The next thing I knew, she was giving me a 5‑hour tour of Sonoma!
This will be my first formal art gallery showing, and I’m very excited! If you’re anywhere near Sonoma on July 5th or 6th (or anytime after that!) please stop by to view the work of many talented artists.
I hope to see you there!
