Capitol Building at night

My daugh­ter and I took a late-night pho­tog­ra­phy excur­sion dur­ing my recent vis­it to Wash­ing­ton DC.  I pre­fer night pho­tog­ra­phy any­way, but also there was rain fore­cast for the rest of the week­end, so I need­ed to get some shots in while I could.  We end­ed up get­ting lost and did­n’t get back to our hotel room until after 1:30 am.  My sis­ter had some con­cerns about our safe­ty, but the Mall was absolute­ly desolate.

I took this shot halfway between the Wash­ing­ton Mon­u­ment and the Capi­tol Build­ing.  I used HDR to bring out the brighter green in the grass.  My sis­ter plans to put this one up on the wall of her new condo.
